Welcome to the planet
Lip-quivering, shadow- haunting silence. This is what came from Dick Grayson's general vicinity after the Reds were dissipated via the Team's make-shift EMP emitter.
Welcome to existence
The instance relaxation became an option; Connor had desperately called out, "Kaldur! How's M'gann?"
Keeping his ever-calm composure intact, Kaldur examined M'gann and responded with relief "she breathes, I believe she will recover..."
This came to great comfort for the rest of the teens, except Wally, who seeminglessly intercepted Aqualad's next thoughts by yelling "what about Robin?"
Artemice ran towards the boy wonder, gasping for air as she listened for breaths, but none came. She looked for his pulse, that's when her own heart began to race.
"I-I don't think he's breathing!" she stammered. Attempting to resuscitate him as best she could, Artemice realized how much harder she should have paid attention in health class.
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
"What do you mean you 'don't think'?!" Kid Flash yelled out. "How hard could it be to see if he's still alive?" Wally, still encased in steal, gulped excruciatingly at the implications of his thoughts. 'He'll be fine' Wally thought to himself 'just fine'.
Artemice was shaking as she ignored the Kid to plead "Kaldur! I need help!"
What happens next?
What happens next?
Setting M'gann's head gently on the cave's floor, Aqualad sprinted to Robin's side. With haste, Kaldur pressed on the youngest member's chest at the rate of a hundred beats per minute, begging his efforts not to be futile.
'Common Rob, why aren't you up yet?' KF's fears refused to be qualmed. His mind racing as fast as his feet could, screaming in terror once again "how's Robin?!"
"Give us a minute Wally!" Artemice hollered, not a hint of sarcasm in her voice, 'this can't be good'.
Wally West had lied earlier when distracting the robot invaders. Not once in his life had he successfully been able to vibrate through solid material as his uncle, the Flash, could. But fear had so engrossed, so overpowered, so 'whelmed' him that he shook fervently.
Before he knew Connor was pointing out "Kid! You phased through the restraints!"
Wally opened his eyes to reveal the validity of Superboy's statement. Kid Flash zipped up the stairs to where the others had crowded around Robin.
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift
Yourself up off by the floor
Artemice craddled Robin's head in her hands, as Kaldur became wearier at his attempts to revive the boy. Soft tears rolled down Arty's cheeks, this infuriated Wally; more importantly, it scared him. Out of the corner of his eye, Wally saw Miss M coming to.
He shuffled ever hastily towards her and muttered in between gasps "M'gann! R-Rob's ou-out, c-cold. Do you think you could go into his subc-oncious and see if he's still... th-there?"
Noting the desperation in his eyes, Megan nodded, and with Wally's help, she staggered to Robin. Placing her hands at his temples, she calmly stated "he's here! But he's faint, you have to hurry..."
"Dammit!" Wally stammered, his frustration boiling, "this isn't working! We need a crash cart! Ugh... I'll be right back..."
Within a millisecond, Kid Flash was zooming across the entire mountain, grabbing what he could for his device. Tears burning through his eyes he was more angry at himself recalling their last real conversation 'it shouldn't have gone that way... why was I so stupid?!'
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Yesterday had been abysmal, he and Dick, Dick his best friend, had just been chilling on the couch when for the first time in several weeks Wally had beaten Dick in video games.
"Wooho!" Wally jumped up in excitement "sorry Dickie-boy, but it looks like I win this round" he persed his lips ever so seductively.
Dick rolled his eyes, but remained slightly amused, "horrah" he stated sarcastically "what do you want, a prize?"
Glancing up, Wally responded flirtatiously "how about a kiss?"
Chuckling, Dick furrowed his eyebrows at the suggestion; contemplating if Wally was making a simple jest or was he just mocking him? With even more thought, Robin considered how could Wally possibly be making fun of him? He couldn't know. Being the great detective, Dick decided to investigate further, "seriously, dude?"
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
Sure Wally had been joking with the kid--because what good are best friends if they couldn't joke-- but he too wanted to test the waters that were casted by his nonchalant comment. To him, however, this was just a game of who could go farther.
"Sure" he smirked, "I want you to plant a big wet one, right here" pointing to his lips.
Dick, was turned on, he'd never admit it, but he had been crushing on Wally for months. Every time he tried getting over the speedster, that goofy grin and easy-going attitude shined on his face, and Robin couldn't help but fall in love all over again. He scowled, Robin knew for a fact, Wally was bisexual. But he had a streak of insensitivity and treated Robin with the same platonic air as the rest of Young Justice. Dick was scorned by Wally's cruel taunts, shaking his head; he stood up annoyed "whatever".
The tension is here
Taken a back, Wally saw the pain in Robin's eyes. Wally reached over and clasped his hand on the boy wonder's shoulder before he could escape to the kitchen. "Dude," concern coursed through his voice "what's up, Rob?"
"What's up? What's up? Dude!" Robin emphatically gestured at the older boy "you think that's funny?"
Dick gave a signature bat-glare, walking to his room, he mumbled under his breath "asshole".
Between who you are
And who you could be
His ninja-esque steps were no match for Wally's super speed, who stepped in front of his friend. "What is the big deal? It's not like I actually got up and kissed you!"
"My point exactly."
"Dick... what are you saying?"
Tension rising, Dick couldn't help but blurt out "you think I like being made fun of Wally?"
Between how it is
And how it should be
Robin sighed, relenting to the guy he knew he could never turn down "yes, Wally" he gritted his teeth.
Reverting to his typical state of casual contentment, Wally smirked "I am... devilishly handsome, aren't I?" flexing his muscles at the younger teen.
"Idiot... you're not clueless, yet you keep playing with me like this?! Some friend you are!" With that, Dick stormed off to the transporters.
Enraged, Wally had only tried to decrease their stress and make the awkwardness more manageable for both of them. But if this was how he wasn't going to be treated, he thought, then to heck with it.
"Fine Boy Blunder! If you're just going to go throw a tantrum to daddy-bats without even asking how I feel then go!"
Dick set up the coordinates to Gotham City on the JLA computer, shaking aside Wally through retorting "you made your feelings perfectly clear, Kid Mouth... and trust me, I am."

Wally should have stopped him, he shouldn't have continued jocking and should have told the boy he only said what he did because, he did like Robin. He loved him, loved his laugh and boy-ish charm. Wally loved the way the could talk to him even better than anyone else on the planet, in the entire galaxy, probably. Most of all, he loved those deep blue eyes that no one else ever dared to know about, or could be trusted with. Robin had sounded content enough today, while Kid had helped him build an EMP emitter, but Wally could hear the forced smile seeping out of his throat. Now, Kid Flash did feel like an idiot, an asshole.
He just hoped his plan to save the little bird would work.
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Gathering whatever odds and ends he could, Wally returned moments later with yet another make-shift machine, a defibrillator. Quickly, he ripped open Dick's shirt and smothered what jelly-- closest thing to gel in the trashed mountain-- he could get on the boy's chest. Then, it began, calling everyone off of Robin, Wally West filled the incapacitated hero's heart with as much electricity as safely possible.
"How's it going Megan..." Wally growled.
M'gann let out a cringe of despair "he's not doing too, well..."
"Come on Rob!" repeatedly applying the defibrillator. "Megan, whatever you do, don't let him leave!"
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?
"Wally..." she started "he wants to talk to you..."
Exasperated, Wally couldn't believe how ridiculous the two were being, he curtly stated "tell him, we can talk all he wants, do what he wants, heck I will get down on one knee and propose! But he needs to wake up now! He has about 30 seconds left." He returned to pressing down the cold metal plates, trying to save the very heart that had stolen his.
M'gann smiled widely. All of a sudden, a yelp was heard throughout the entire hideout. All eyes reverted to staring at Robin, he coughed water out weakly.
Salvation is here
Wally slowly lifted his best friend's head up, his cheeks were now just tear stained, tears of joy them welled up as the boy wonder opened his eyes and gave a soft grin.
"Anything, huh?" Dick's voice was hoarse, yet as happy as ever.
Kid Flash smiled like no other, the expression on his face matched the color of his suit, perfect joy. "Dude, don't ever scare me like that again, ever."
Frowning Robin tempted to ask "was I really that bad?"
"Let's just say, now I'm traught and whelmed," this seemed to calm both of them, it wasn't good enough for the speedster. Stooping over, Wally lifted Dick's chin and looked deeply into his cerulean eyes.
Jaded pupils never looked as intense as they did when staring into Robin's eyes, his soul. "Uh, Wally, my mask"
"Here" he smiled, "I'll cover up those amazing eyes for you, Beautiful."
Laughing, Dick stammered "don't call me th-".
The Kid had smashed his lips against Rob's, there was no way to deny it in his mind, Wally had fallen in love a long time ago-- hard.
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
After the initial shock of both Robin's recovery and the boy's little scene, the Team began to reconvene. Artemice had found just the laser to cut Superboy free when Red Tornado appeared. The characteristically apathetic robot was explaining the steps to his return when the laser, among other thing turned on.
Regaining their grip on reality, Dick and Wally grimaced as they yelled out "the pulse has worn off!"
With this, Red Tornado had made contact with the incapacitated robots that caused an unusual spark. Tornado went hay-wire, manipulating a vortex to deprivate the room of oxygen. As the others began to fall, Kid Flash and Robin passed out in each other's arms.

Several minutes later, the boys were being shaken awake as Batman, with a disapproving scowl, helped them up. The most startled person was by far Artemice, who had been the last one to regain consciousness. When inquiring about Red Tornado, Robin curtly told her "gone. They're all gone."
Incredibly upset by the injustice and disloyalty of Red Tornado, the Team-- along with members of the Justice League-- started the search for allusive trio. Hours of scouring databases and cities a like turned no profit for the heroes' cause. Young Justice was finally ordered to turn in for the night back at Happy Harbor while the 'adults' continued the search.
Dick was just about to turn in when he was snatched up and run to a chair in the kitchen. The blur of light that had perched him in front of the counter top began his concentrated work at the stove. Perplexed, Robin asked "Dude, what are you doing?"
Kid Flash seized his work momentarily to cheerfully reply "you wanted to talk, now we can talk. And I don't know about you, but I'm starved. Pizza?"
"S-sure," still confused Dick baited the topic of speaking, "what-what are we Wally?"
Shrugging Wally responded, "well, I think--and by all means stop me at any time-- that I agreed to do whatever you want and then after a night a lone in the city I picked up to grab a bite to eat."
Robin nodded hesitantly to see where the Kid was going with this one, being a man of science didn't always equal typical conclusions.
"So I think..." Wally continued as he tossed a now perfectly formed ball of dough into the air at a perfect arch to both catch the object and extend the application of the acceleration of gravity "this is a date, Dick."
"Huh," the younger hero crossed his arms in amusement "so what happened to 'what's the big deal'?"
Although it was obvious by the marinara sauce being drizzled onto the dough-covered sauce pan that Wally was making a pizza with oh-so-much concentration, he was still able to guilt- fully confess "ya...the big deal was that I was an asshole who didn't want to own up to really wanting that kiss."
Robin's eyes gleamed through his dark shades. That was a major relief to him. "You kind of were," he admitted, "glad to see it was a ruse."
"Uh huh" having put his concoction with everything-on-it in the oven, Wally turned all of his attention back to Dick. "Why weren't you coming back earlier? I mean you very well could've died today, Dick..." Brusking the back of his hand gently against the soft surface of his friends cheek KF added "I know you were mad, but..."
Taking the prompt, Robin replied "I know, Wally, I'm sorry. There was some interference with my subconscious and I wasn't really--here. If you hadn't gotten Miss M to come and find me, I might still be lost in memories of things that haven't happened yet."
Standing quietly for some time, Wally shifted his weight as fidgeted "care to elaborate on memories?"
Perking up, Dick shook his head in simple pleasure to have regained a bit of normalcy and assured "of coarse... after we eat, though," gesturing at the timer that had just gone off for Wally's pizza.
"No prob, Rob" turning around and chuckling to himself the unintentional rhyme. Kid Flash contently rang out "you're going to love this one!"
"I'm sure I will," giving Wally some confidence that his new found interest would enjoy the meal he had prepared.
And know you what, he did.
